On On 24th October 2005, the trial judge at Birmingham Crown Court ruled that the trial of 10 West Midlands police officers will be moved from a Birmingham venue.
Whilst the reasons for this decision are not yet permitted to be made public, it can be said that the trial will be moved to the East Midlands and is likely to commence in May 2006.
The family of Mikey Powell were made aware of the decision, and have been provided with a full written explanation for the judges decision.
